چکیده

A few industries, such as the beverage industry, have experienced some growth in sales during COVID-19 pandemic. Globally, companies alone generate over 200 million tonnes of biomass annually, which largely ends up animal feed or landfills. With UK government’s commitment to reduce its carbon footprint by at least 68% 2030, many companies, especially small and medium enterprises (SMEs), are exploring options emissions develop roadmaps become neutral. It has thus imperative for find value repurpose their waste. This paper unlocks potential improving fuel properties waste through a blending process explores determination optimal fractions blends via characterization. an initial moisture content 82 58 wt.% brewery spent grain (BSG) coffee grounds (SCG), respectively, pre-treatment reduced approximately 10–15 wt.%. The study concludes that improved biomass, providing competitive comparison with coal energy applications.

Deacidification of Pistacia chinensis Oil as a Promising Non-Edible Feedstock for Biodiesel Production in China

Pistacia chinensis seed oil is proposed as a promising non-edible feedstock for biodiesel production. Different extraction methods were tested and compared to obtain crude oil from the seed of Pistacia chinensis, along with various deacidification measures of refined oil. The biodiesel was produced through catalysis of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and potassium hydroxide (KOH). The results showed th...
